Relative says killer suffered from psychological problems
Manama: Police in Saudi Arabia have launched an investigation into the death of a man, his wife and their three children in the capital Riyadh.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man, a Sudanese national, killed his wife and three children before committing suicide.
“We received a phone call from a Sudanese expatriate who said that he was not able to contact his relative and that none of his family members answered the phone, either,” Fawaz Bin Jameel Al Miman, the head of public relations and information at the Riyadh police, said. “He was worried that a terrible thing happened to them, especially that his relative, 46, was reportedly suffering from psychological problems,” Al Miman said, quoted by local daily Okaz on Wednesday.
A police patrol and a civil defence team were dispatched to the family’s house and they managed to enter the house where they discovered five corpses.
The wife, 44, had her neck slit and the three children, aged between two and seven, were in a pool of blood.
“Forensics said that the early indicators were that the man killed the four victims before committing suicide,” Al Miman said.
