Kuwait: BillavaSangha Kuwait successfully held its second Family picnic at the Mishref gardens on a pleasant sunny day of 4th April, 2014.
The picnic started off with humble prayer to help us eliminate all obstacles by JyothiSudhir, MamtaSandeep and AshwithaSurendra. The BSK junior gracefully hula hooped their way into the inauguration ceremony, which was followed by a flag hoisting by the President Mr. Mohandas Poojary and ribbon cutting by the Sports Secretary Mr. SandeepAttavar.
The tiny tots enjoyed their game of passing the gift while the older children played collecting ball in their mother’s apron and musical chair. Yet elder children played potato race and memory game with ease. The ladies were set to ring the wicket and fill water with the spoon while the men struggled with the single wicket throw and heavy weight running. Shot put and Breaking the pot were played by everyone in the crowd.
The couples relished the 3-legged race while they also enjoyed playing with the water bombs. The kids were later seen throwing the water bombs on each other thoroughly enjoying themselves. Housie game was well compered by AmarnathSuvarna captivating the audience.
The day also witnessed the team game of Volleyball having 4 teams of Billava Rocks,Riggae Rocks, Karkala Friends, and Abbasiya Friends while it was won by the Riggae rocks followed by runners up Karkala Friends. Throwball mixed match led by ladies was played with great enthusiasm. The game was won by Jyothi and team while the runners up were Soumya and her team.
The event was gracefully hosted by MithunVishwanath and RamyaChitrek, while the DJ Roshan Rodrigues gave us peppy numbers that kept the audience delighted. Delicious lunch was served by Avanthi Palace restaurant, while the sound system was provided by Anand Illuminations. The sponsors for the day were Sonstep Typing Center who provided the water for the whole day and Eternity Travels and Tourism.
The prizes of the raffle draw were sponsored by the committee members, Raghu Poojary, Mohandas Poojary, Chitrek Bangera, Suresh Kunder, Ramesh Poojary, PradeepKotian, AmithSanil, Jaya Vishwas, Mahesh Poojary, MithunVishwanath and Sandesh Amin. The Volleyball and Throwball cups were sponsored by JyothiSudhirSuvarna, while the Breakfast was sponsored by Mr. GovindBelchada and Mrs. Shashi Amin.
Yet another memorable event was concluded on a very happy note with prize distributions, vote of thanks by the General Secretary Sushma Bangera and the raffle draw winner announcements.
