Kuwait: The police arrested an Asian expatriate in a connection with a spate of robberies in several areas of Kuwait.
He admitted to stealing electrical transformers installed in companies and smuggling them out of Kuwait. A squad of undercover policeman identified the man and caught him red-handed in Al-Zahra’a district.
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras captured him as he was stealing electrical transformers in other locations.
The defendant led the policeman to a location where he concealed 35 batteries of electrical transformers which intended to smuggle out of Kuwait.
Investigation has also revealed that he was sentenced in absentia to two years in prison.
