Mumbai: Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor made a quick stop at Hyderabad on Friday to promote their upcoming movie Singham Returns. The duo was fashionably late by an hour (as they had to get dressed up) and made a quick exit as the press conference lasted for hardly 10 minutes.

The event started with a few bloopers. Emcee Himani welcomed all to the press meet of Singham 2 (Telugu film which starred Suriya and Anushka) and later Singham (which had Kajal Aggarwal). The poor girl got the name, Singham Returns, right only by the third attempt.

While Kareena looked glamorous as always, Ajay seemed a bit grumpy. Ajay often looked at Kareena for help, when he did not understand a question.
Ajay started by assuring that Singham Returns was not a remake of Suriya’s Singham 2. “It is not a remake of any South Indian movie, but has a fresh story. This time we have tried to keep it more realistic and it will be more aggressive than the first one,” he said.

He also agreed that there was more pressure this time since Singham was a huge hit.

Though the movie is all about the tough cop Bajirao Singham, Kareena is not bothered about being overshadowed. “Since it is an action and comedy entertainer, Ajay is doing all the action and I am doing most of the comedy. I am playing a prominent role. Even in a huge movie like Iron Man, there was a Gwyneth Paltrow,” she said.

Quick to come to her defence, Ajay said, “This time we had a romantic track and we knew that only Kareena would fit the bill.”

The only action that Kareena has “done in the movie is to ride a rickshaw.”

A part of Singham Returns was shot in the city, but the stars did not get time to go around Hyderabad. “This is not the first time me or Kareena have come to Hyderabad. I have been visiting Hyderabad for shoots for the past 20 years and have checked out most of the places.”

When asked about his wife Kajol’s comeback film, Ajay said, “Husband and wife should not work together.” The team later went to Muffakham Jah College in the city before leaving for Bengaluru.
