Mumbai: Riding high on success with her previous release, actress Alia Bhatt said her father and ace filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt will write a script for her in near future. “He (Mahesh Bhatt) is not going to direct, but will definitely write a script for me, which will be an award- winning performance. He has promised me and it will happen” Alia told reporters here at an promotional event of her upcoming film ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’.

Alia, who has earlier sung in ‘Highway’, has done playback singing for the upcoming romcom as well. The actress has sung the unplugged version of song ‘Main Tennu Samjhawaan’, which was unveiled today at the event, where Mahesh Bhatt was also present. On the occasion, Bhatt said he had tears in his eyes when he first heard the song.

“Usually, I don’t attend her (Alia’s) events. But I came here, because she had sent me the song two days back and asked for my opinion. I had tears in my eyes when I heard it. She has sung it from heart,” he said. Though Alia does not have any formal training in singing, it’s her “khasiyat” (quality), added Bhatt.

The young actress revealed that she has inherited quality of singing from her family. “My Nana used to play violin. Music runs in our family, my whole family thoroughly enjoys it. And I don’t do any riyaz (practice),” Alia said.

The 21-year-old actress said she is keen to sing, not just for films, but would also love to have her own music album one day. The ‘2 States’ star said she listens to singers Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Sunidhi Chauhan but gives her songs, her own touch.

Her co-star Varun Dhawan was also present at the event, to whom she dedicated the song. Alia also hummed a few lines of the song on the occasion. ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ directed by Shashank Khaitan, stars Alia and Varun Dhawan in the lead roles. It is slated to release on July 11.
