Trailer of Sajid Nadiadwala’s action flick released in the UAE
Will this Eid prove to be another bonanza for Salman Khan? Keeping to the Khan tradition of releasing a Salman movie during Eid every year (with the exception of last year) – Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) – which usually translates to box office gold for the makers – this festive season will see the opening of Salman Khan-Jacqueline starrer Kick. The first trailer of Kick, a remake of the 2009 Telugu movie of the same name, was released on Sunday with much fanfare at Gaiety-Galaxy theatre in Mumbai in the presence of the film’s cast and crew. At the same time, Disney Indiaand Essar Events held a special trailer preview for select local media at Grand Cineplex in Dubai on Sunday afternoon.
The trailer shows a younger and fresher looking Salman, aptly named Devil, sporting a mask and doing what he does best – indulging in a series of daredevil acts similar to his Ek Tha Tiger character. We hear Salman’s character is no hero in the film- in fact he plays a crole with shades of grey. There is a line in the movie which has him saying: ‘Don’t think so much about me. I belong to your heart, not mind’, which, we can already predict will be a hit with his young fans.
While talking to reporters during the launch Salman said, “I will not reveal what my character is in Kick. All I can say is it’s a mischievous and naughty role (and) that’s why it’s called Devil.”
Trade analysts are already claiming that this film will be a record shattering and historical one at the box office. Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mithun Chakraborty complete the star cast of Kick which marks the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala. Best-selling author Chetan Bhagat, whose 2 States proved a hit at the box-office recently, has scripted the screenplay for this movie which releases on July 24 in the UAE.
Jacqueline akin to Zeenat
Salman Khan, a big fan of yesteryear actress Zeenat Aman, says only his Kick co-star Jacqueline Fernandez can replace the legendary actress..
“I have always been a big fan of Zeenat Amanji and even today I am her big fan. If anyone can replace her it’s Jacqueline Aman Fernandez,” Salman told reporters.
“I have never worked with an actress who has tantrums. After this film she (Jacqueline) will kick all of us,” he said in a lighter vein.
