Mumbai; MUMBAI – Actor Sanjay Duttspent the sixth continuous nightin Yerawada jail on Wednesdaydespite being given a 30-dayparole by the prison authorities.He has yet to furnish a surety,said prison authorities.It is unclear why he is taking solong to complete the parole formalitiesbut sources close to theactor in Mumbai said he wouldbe back home by the weekend.His brother-in-law is likely tostand surety.The actor had got parole on thegrounds that his wifeManyata is unwell.The prison authoritiessay they had relied onsome medical documentsto grant himparole.His family was notreachable and lawyerswho had representedhim earlier were tightlipped.In October when the 54-yearoldwas released on furlough hissister stood surety for him. Theformality includes identificationand solvency or cashdetails for theamount specified,said prison authorities.Divisional commissionerPrabhakarDeshmukh grantedparole to Dutt onDecember 6 afterthe Mumbai police and the stateprisons department, Pune, hadrecommended his release. Theparole order was communicatedto the jail the next day.
