Mumbai: Sid Mallya (name changed from Siddharth Mallya to Sid Mallya), son of Kingfisher owner Vijay Mallya was romantically linked with Deepika Padukone few years back. Though the couple never made their relationship public, in various occasions they were spotted together. Sid even threw a surprise birthday party for his then ladylove Deepika Padukone. But their relationship did not last long and they parted ways mutually. After so many years, Sid finally spoke about his ex-flame Deepika and said that he is still protective about her.
Deepika was also spotted in various events of the Kingfisher and was also caught in the camera cheering for Royal Challengers Bangalore during IPL matches. Sid and Deepika also headed for holiday together when they were dating each other.
When Sid was asked whether he cares about Deepika dating Ranveer Singh, he replied, “I don’t care… I’ll always be protective of her, because, as I said, I’m friends with my exes”.
Sid said he speaks with her occasionally, “We speak occasionally. I met her at a wedding (in Bengaluru) a few days back. She has been busy with many releases. And with me being in America, you aren’t going to be in touch as much…”.
When Sid was asked how he feels about Deepika and Ranveer’s relationship, he candidly answered, “What they choose is their business; not mine, or anyone else’s. They’ve just made a great film. People should focus on that because that’s what they do”.
Sid Mallya aspires to be a Hollywood actor, he said, “I’ve been in Los Angeles over the last year-and-a-half. I’ve always had this side of me that wanted to perform. During IPL 2012, I did my own online chat show, which got a lot of attention. Everyone said ‘You’ve got great screen presence.’ But I won’t do something until I’ve had training. You can’t wake up one morning and decide you’re an astronaut. So I can’t just wake up and decide I’m an actor, so I started from the beginning”.
Sid Mallya is not interested in Bollywood film, “I don’t want to do something for the sake of doing it. I’m not interested in fame; I want to be the best at what I do. I don’t think I can be the best in Bollywood, because I never watched Bollywood films. I grew up in the west. So tomorrow, if I go and do a Bollywood film, you can tell straight away that I’m a foreigner. So I don’t think I have the right sensibility for Bollywood”, quoted Sid.
