Satellite telecast rights of Bul Bul fetches Rs 4.15 crore, which is the highest ever for a Kannada film.
After his films became the highest grossers at the box office, a Darshan film has become the highest earner from sale of satellite telecast rights. The rights of Bul Bul has been sold for Rs 4.15 crore to a private satellite channel. This is the highest amount paid to a Kannada film so far. The previous record was Rs 3.75 crore paid to Puneeth Rajkumar’s Paramathma. However, another Puneeth film, Anna Bond is said to have received Rs 4 crore for satellite rights, but it is unconfirmed. But the flavour of the season now is Darshan, who has to his name two of the biggest grossers in the last few years; Sarathi and Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna. While his peers; Sudeep and Puneeth have forayed in to the small screen, Darshan has concentrated all energies on films and it seems to be paying off. Bul Bul is still a few months from release.
