Rapper Iggy Azalea has cancelled her performance at the upcoming Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA) festival, Pittsburgh Pride, following criticism from some sections of the community over her past tweets. The 25-year-old “Black Widow” hitmaker has brought on allegations of homophobia with since-deleted (but still archived) tweets. The anti-Azalea movement included Pittsburgh City Council resident Bruce Kraus and led to a number of groups cancelling their appearances at the June 14 event, reported Billboard.

Azalea tweeted, “This has been a difficult decision as I truly support the event and LGBTQIA communities, however I feel my participation at this point would only serve to further distract from the true purpose of the event.” Azalea had recently cancelled her Great Escape Tour due to a “creative change of heart,” but kept Pittsburgh Pride and a number of other spot shows on the books.
