The singer is one of Bollywood’s most popular singers today. But Mika has been in the business for over a decade and half and is still ruling the roost not just for hiw Mika type sings for different numbers as well.
The singer who also debuted a an actor a few months ago, has no time for love or marriage, he says.
“I have been planning that I should get married for the past few years. I even have thought that it could be this year, but I have not found the time for marriage,” he says.
On the professional front Mika says that singers and composers seem to be in a hurry. “I think composer Mithoon is very unique, because he gives a hit song and goes into oblivion. He comes back with another hit and then sits quiet again. That kind of work is what will bring in quality and long lasting work. These kids today wants to sing all kinds of songs, do too much work and then they disappear,” he adds.
Mika is someone who does not think twice to talk about the work he has done. “There is a difference between a singer and star. When I do a show in Ahmedabad, I have over 40000 people paying money to come and watch me. When I did a show in Pakistan recently. I had over 16000 people come and watch me when the tickets were priced very high. But that is what a star is. It is pretty difficult to be a star. A lot of young singers have come over every year and have been touted as competition for me. But only I have stayed,” he adds.
