Gabbar Is Back collections dip on Sat, earns Rs 24.4cr in two days

After a smashing opening on Friday with Rs 13.05 crore, Akshay Kumar-starrer Gabbar is Back tanked at the ticket windows on Saturday. The film that is being touted as the biggest Bollywood opener in 2015, earned Rs 11.35 crore on day two.

Akshay Kumar’s latest toppled Ranbir Kapoor-Arjun Rampal-Jacqueline Fernandes-starrer Roy (released on Februrary 13) that made Rs 10.4 crore on day one. The next on the list is Arjun Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Tevar that earned Rs 7.5 crore on day one. Varun Dhawan-Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Badlapur (released on Februrary 20) comes next with an opening collection of Rs 7 crore.

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron made Rs 10.8 crore on day one when it released in India on April 24.

Directed by Krish, the film hit theatres on Friday and is the second collaboration of Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali along with co-producer Shabinaa Khan.

The story of Gabbar Is Back revolves around a common man who wages war against corruption. Gabbar Is Back also stars Shruti Hassan, Sunil Grover, Suman Talwar and a friendly appearance by Kareena Kapoor Khan.
