Srinagar: Some call him Dabbang, some Bhai but for the family of Zaina Begum who hails from remote village of Diyaroo in Anantnag district, Salman Khan is a “messiah”.
75 year old Zaina Begum was struggling for life with her 40-year-old widowed daughter Dilshada Jaan, to raise four grandchildren, who moved into her home after the untimely demise of their father.
But the news of Salman’s arrival to Valley to shoot for his upcoming movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan changed the destiny of the whole family. As  soon as Salman reached the Pahalagam for shooting, Zaina Begum rushed to the sets and informed his four security guards that she wanted to meet Salman. Intrigued, he sent for her and spent hours listening, as she unburdened her problems.
Khan who is known for his charitable activities immediately asked the widow lady to send her eldest grandson, 18-year-old Gowhar Ahmad Bhat to work on the sets of the films so that he can earn some money to run his troubled family.
According to sources, Salman told the lad that Gowhar could be with the unit till the schedule in Kashmir ends after which he could fly down to Mumbai and work with him. “Salman assured him that he and his family would never want for anything again.”
The old lady who had never thought of meeting biggest star of the Bollywood describes Salman as “a saviour, a messiah” and his grandson on whose shoulders his mother and grandmother as well as his three sisters, Rukaiya Jaan (15), Khalida Jaan (12) and Khushboo Jaan (10) says “Upar khuda hai, neeche Salman Khan.”
This gesture surely moved Zaina and her family. This isn’t the first time that Bollywood’s Dabangg Khan indulged in a philanthropic work.
