Karan Johar’s next production directed by Shakun Batra is finally rolling and the team has let the cat out of the bag. While Karan had previously announced the film on Twitter, he had also mentioned that the film has already been cast but he did not mention who were the ones cast in the film.
Dharma favourites Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt will star along side our hot shot Pakistani import Fawad Khan. Definitely a casting coup of sorts, Sid and Alia will be seen playing interesting characters in the film and might not play love interests to each other. Fawad Khan will play the elder brother and Sid will play the younger one. Initially, Arjun Kapoor was approached for the film but after he declined, Fawad stepped into his shoes.
A ‘family film’ as Karan states, Shakun’s film will be titled ‘Kapoor & Sons’ and is a coming out film about two brothers from a dysfunctional family- one of them being gay. The film rolls out over a weekend where the family goes on a vacation and one of the brothers, the younger one played by Sidharth will finally reveal his sexuality. An unconventional family film, suited for the present day and age, the film is expected to go on floors soon.
