Mumbai: She is being touted as the next big thing (all her films till now have been hits, and she has even bagged several awards for her performances). But Alia Bhatt still feels that she has a long way to go before she becomes popular among the masses.

In fact, the young actor has a unique barometer to measure her ‘mass’ appeal. She wishes that her posters adorn beauty parlours — especially in small towns — all over India.

“Whoever has travelled to small towns wouldn’t have missed noticing various actresses’ posters on the walls, doors, glass windows and even interiors of small beauty parlours, which are spread across the interiors of the country. Ever since Alia was very young, she has had the wish to be on those posters,” says an insider.

Till now, posters of actors like Rekha, Hema Malini, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have largely dominated such spaces in small towns. “According to Alia, when an actor’s posters adorn such beauty parlours, it becomes an automatic proof of her popularity, beauty quotient and success,” adds the insider.

When contacted, Alia said, “It’s my desire to be on those posters. Most importantly, I feel they prove your popularity and reach among the masses, which is something I would love to achieve.”

Celebrity wish list
Shraddha Kapoor: Shakti Kapoor’s daughter wants to act with her father. “I would love to play Crime Master Gogo’s daughter, Gogi. It would be great to act with him in a film that can be called something like, Gogo Aur Gogi,” Shraddha said, referring to her dad’s iconic character from the Aamir Khan-Salman Khan-starrer, Andaz Apna Apna (1994).

Deepika Padukone: She was offered her first Bollywood film opposite Salman Khan, but things didn’t work out then. Ever since, no film has worked out with Salman and Deepika in the lead. “Salman and I aren’t going anywhere. I believe working with him will be an experience in itself, and I would love to go through that,” she said.

Parineeti Chopra: The 26-year-old has been on a boyfriend hunt for sometime now, but with no luck yet. “I am going to find a boyfriend in 2015, and I have been saying this for the past two years. I haven’t gotten attracted to anybody. My last relationship was in 2011. I haven’t been in a relationship since I became an actor,” she told HT Café earlier.
