Student Of The Year star Varun Dhawan is all set to release his upcoming film Badlapur. In a recent interview with a daily, the actor shared his excitement and also revealed the reasons behind the change that recently took place in his life.
When asked if he ignored Alia Bhatt at the recent award show, Varun finally broke the ice and revealed the truth. The actor said that when he was on stage, he noticed Sidharth Malhotra, clearly because he is taller and he could spot him easily. The actor also went further and informed that while shooting for his upcoming film Badlapur, he didn’t speak to anyone. The shoot went on till December-end and during that time, Varun totally cut off everyone, including his parents.
When asked if the phase changed anything in his life, especially his relationship with Alia, this is what Varun had to say, “That phase changed my friendship and equation with everyone, not just Alia. That is the price I had to pay to do this film. I actually have lost touch with lot of my school friends. I missed a close friend’s wedding and he really got upset. There have been many casualties in terms of my personal relationships with a lot of people.
Now, obviously, people who are from the industry will speak more about it, but my actual closest friends are not from the industry. So, I will mend those relationships first and then think about the others. I don’t think anyone is upset with me and even if they are they should go watch Badlapur!”
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Badlapur will hit the theatres on February 20, 2015.
