Mumbai; Salman Khan is the ultimate crowd pleaser. His releases have always been family entertainers and except human intelligence they have never insulted anything else. Always playing safe, Khan has intentionally stayed away from any issue that might lead to a communal conflict. However, if media reports are to be believed Khan’s latest film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is going to promote ‘love jihad’.
Sources told media that Kareena Kapoor, who plays Khan’s lady love in the film, will portray the role of a Hindu Brahmin girl, while Khan will play the role of a Muslim.
Those sources also told the newspaper that filmmaker Kabir Khan has got funding from Arab countries to make the film. While Salman is yet to respond to such allegations, filmmaker Kabir Khan has denied these reports.
“First of all, I don’t understand what ‘love jihad’ is.” Kabir Khan told India Today. “So why and how would I be making a film on the theme? Secondly, even if I was I wouldn’t stop just because some people don’t like what I am doing.” he added.
The music composer of the film also defended the script and said, “There is nothing communal about it.”
“It’s a human story of a man and a child. Once they see it, no community will find anything objectionable in it. It’s not a typical Salman Khan film, yet only he can do justice to the script. Kabir and I are working on song situations and I’m sure we’ll come up with an interesting album.” he added.
Kareena Kapoor on the other hand had to clarified that the film is not based on her personal life.
“It’s a story of a Muslim guy and Brahmin girl. It’s got nothing do with my personal life, but it’s a beautiful human story,” Kareena, who is married to Saif Ali Khan, told IANS.
“I think it will be Salman’s career’s best film. It will have Salman in a completely different light altogether and it’s a very special film.” she added.
