New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, the man accused for slapping Bollywood starlet Gauahar Khan has claimed that it was merely a publicity stunt for the show.
In an interview with Zee News, Mohd. Akil Malik said he slapped the model-actress only because ‘she paid him to do so’. He also said that he was a junior artist and was told that he would get a lucrative role in ‘Dabbang 3’ if he slaps the actress on stage. He further claimed that ‘the entire stunt was only for the sake of publicity’, and the actress had said ‘she wouldn’t press any charges on him to do so’.
‘Bigg Boss 7’ winner Gauahar Khan was slapped by a member of the audience at a reality show stage on December 2, 2014. Immediately after the incident Akil claimed that he slapped Khan because she was wearing short skirt during the show, according to reports.
The model-turned actress was anchoring the grand finale of the television show, which was attended by bigwigs like Arjun Kapoor and music director duo Sajid-Wajid.
A number of people from across all sections of the society extended support to the actress. She had later stated that laxity in the security arrangements led to the incident.
