Mumbai: Former ‘Bigg Boss’ housemate, Gauahar Khan made headlines when she was recently slapped by a member of the audience on the sets of a reality talent show she was hosting.
The country was in shock as to how the assailant thought he could go up to the celebrity, attack her in public and think he could walk away scott-free. The explanation he gave for his actions was even worse than the act itself, stating that he slapped her because she was a Muslim girl and according him she was dressed scantily in public.
The outrage from the Twitterati and various other social media platforms was not surprising as fans, celebrities and the media came out in support of Gauahar Khan who handled the whole incident with immense grace.
However, a video by Youtuber Shashwat Singh, known as MonsterShanu on Youtube has gone viral. In simple rustic Hindi and a slew of cuss words, Shashwat explains why exactly the man slapped Gauahar Khan.

He talks about the mentality of the basic Indian man and how women are viewed in the country as well as their constant struggle to be recognized and accepted as equal. In the two-minute video, Singh also blatantly states how men have no fear of their actions, as they are so sure of getting away with their acts of domestic and sexual violence.
Within a few days since it was released, the video titled, ‘Why was Gauhar Khan slapped?’, has garnered more than 2 lakh views. We could definitely do with more people like Shashwat Singh.
