Kannada movie ‘Ka’ Movie Review

Over the past few decades the Kannada film industry has been on a steady decline. While the viewer base has decreased, fewer movies go on the become hit. The reason attributed for this is the lack of quality and originality in movies.

In the past few years, various new directors have cropped up in Kannada film industry that have tried to increase the quality of the Kannada movies. The list just got a bit longer with Sai Krishna, the director of Ka. He is the son of Director Om Sai Prakash of Anna Tangi fame.

Ka is a story of love and the difficulties faced by new age couples in today’s world. The story takes place in just one day, i.e. the Valentine’s day. Almost 30 new actors have made their debut in the movie, which is a record in itself.

Ka is mostly a director’s movie, where Sai Krishna shines with his directorial abilities. He has kept the screenplay neat and engrossing without any loopholes, and the pleasant background score adds on to the quality of the movie. The songs in the movie have been placed very intelligently and are becoming viral among the youth.

The most surprising aspect is that almost all the new comers have managed to act effortlessly in the movie. Although a few actors have grabbed the limelight with terrific performance, almost everyone has put up their best performance.

The director shows in inexperience with the camera work and editing. Although he has been good for a newcomer, he still has a long way to go, in his career. Ka is a refreshing new movie for the Kannada audience. The young director has a bright future if he keeps up his great work from Ka.
