New Delhi: Filmmaker and actress Pooja Bhatt has separated from her husband Manish Makhija after living 11 years together. The couple got married in year 2003.
The eldest daughter of Mahesh Bhatt is credited for making films like ‘Jism,’ ‘Paap,’ ‘Rog’ and many more.
It was during the making of her film ‘Paap’ when she met Manish. Munna as Manish is called by her friends and family is a former VJ who also had a small role in the film. They soon got married in Goa after dating for few months.
Manish also runs restaurant and is a professional musician. He is also composing music for Pooja’s next film ‘Cabaret’.
Pooja Bhatt took to Twitter to announce the split. In a series of three tweets the first one reads, “To all those who care & especially those that don’t my husband Munna & Me have decided to part ways after 11 glorious years of marriage.”
The director further tweeted that they respect each other will still stay friends after the separation. “Our split as some might call it is amicable & we hold each other in the highest esteem for now and forever,” she said in the second tweet.
There have been a series of rumours floating around in the media for few months. But this time Pooja decided to not to leave anything to speculation and announced the split herself.
In her last tweet about the separation Pooja commented, “The reason I explain Is because we are both part of the public domain. Our friends, well wishers & foes are free to now speculate. : )”
