Prakash Raj In Kannada Remake Of Special 26

06-special-26Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar’s critically acclaimed and box office hit movie Special 26 will be remade in Kannada soon. The Kannada remake of the movie will be directed by Actor/Director Thaigarajan. The director will also be making the movie is Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

The director got the rights of the movie form Viacom 18 motion picture, the producers of the movie. He also has the remake rights of the Bollywood movie Queen. In a statement to a leading daily the director said, “This time, I grabbed the golden opportunity of remaking Special 26 in all four south Indian languages and I will have the honour of directing this mammoth movie in all four south Indian languages”

The movie will have south superstar Prakash Raj playing the CBI office role essayed by Manoj Bajpai in the original movie. In the Tamil remake, the director will cast his son Prashanth to play the role done by AKshay Kumar.

The director has not decided on who will be doing the role in Kannada. Special 26 is a movie based on real life incidents in 1980 where con artists used to raid and rob big politicians and businessmen by pretending to be CBI or Income Tax Officers. The movie was appreciated by the critics and the viewers for its intelligent story and fast paced screenplay. The Kannada audience may love this kind of different cinematic experience.
