Deepika Padukone has received tremendous success and popularity in her career during the last few years, her personal life has not been so much stellar. Her once hi-profile romance with fellow star Ranbir Kapoor did not last really long and since then she has stayed away from relationships.
For more than a year now, her closeness with another Bollywood star Ranveer Singh has been a topic of discussion for some time now. They are seen together often and seem quite comfortable with each other. While Ranveer has made it quite clear that he is fond of Deepika, Deepika herself has been reserved in her replies although in an interview she did accept that she and Ranveer are ‘compatible’.
In a recent interview Deepika has said that every relationship needs some ‘breathing time’ and it will take some time for her to say that she is dating someone. It is being seen by industry watchers as a sign that Deepika is slowly reaching the stage where she will be ready to acknowledge her relationship in public.
“He is such free-spirited person. It influences you. Relationships don’t happen overnight. It’s definitely an equation that I value a lot…there is something very special about him as a person,” said Deepika.
Deepika recently made headlines after she openly criticized one of India’s leading newspapers after they published videos of her ‘cleavage’ on their online portal. But it seems that Deepika has an emotional side as well. Recently at a promotional event for her film ‘Happy New Year’, Deepika and her director Farah Khan got very emotional at the thought of disbanding after spending months together. Deepika was in tears according to a source.
The source said, “Just the thought made Farah emotional. She knows that once the film releases, the team members will go their different ways. Deepika and Boman started crying too, while Shahrukh and Abhishek were trying to console them.” Later Deepika regained her composure and shared a little information about SRK with whom she has established a great working relationship. Deepika said, “Shahrukh has an issue with showing his feet to people. So he’ll never take his shoes off and you’ll never see him bare feet.”
Recently she was asked in an interview about the difference in pay scale between male and female actors to which Deepika smartly replied, “If you comparing our pay scale with the men, then yes it is very less. If you are comparing what girls used to get before and what they are getting in the last one or two years then I can say that there has been a major shift and we are hoping and trying. But this is not a war.”
