A mosquito has put brakes on Lisa Haydon’s promotional activities from her upcoming film, The Shaukeens. The actress who was in Delhi for an event was suddenly taken ill.

“She was running a fever and when the temperature spiked, Lisa prudently decided to cut short her trip and return home to Mumbai,” a friend told Mirror.

As soon as she touched the city, she was driven straight to the family doctor who suspected dengue.

” she was rushed to the Breach Candy Hospital where the diagnosis was confirmed,” adds the friend. “However, the doctors told her that she could return home for the night. They will decide today if she needs to be hospitalised.”

The dreaded fever has rapidly spread in the city over the last two months with dengue cases doubling over the past few weeks.

MEANWHILE…

Rohan Sippy contracted dengue during a visit to Shimla in late September. His father, Ramesh Sippy, is making a comeback to direction after 19 years with the Hema Malini-Rajkummar Rao-Rakhul Preet Singh starrer Shimla Mirchi and Rohan was there when the film rolled. He returned after a couple of days with high fever and was diagnosed with dengue.

“He convalesced at home,” says a friend of the producer-director. The timing couldn’t have been worse as Rohan’s film, Sonali Cable, was to open on October 17. “His producer wife Roopa De kept the promotions going,” adds the friend. “He was out of action for 10-12 days and even now his energy levels are low.”
