Bantwal, October 28: A staff nurse inside an ambulance has performed the delivery of a pregnant woman after the doctors at a government hospital suggested her family to take her to another hospital after they had reportedly found that the case was complicated.
It is learnt that Naseema Banu from Bolantur Bangarakodi was admitted to Bantwal government hospital on October 24th after she developed labour pain. The doctors after examining her gave some medicine and admitted her to the hospital. But within an hour of admission, the doctors informed that she had meconium strain and delivery was not possible there and suggested to take her to Mangaluru.
Naseema Banu’s family members grew anxious and called Arogya Kavacha 108 Ambulance vehicle. Immediately the ambulance vehicle in B C Road went to Bantwal and took Naseema Banu who was experiencing labour pain along with another elderly woman relative to Mangaluru.
While the ambulance reached near Padil, Naseema Banu’s labour pain increased severely. Staff nurse Chethana was provided with necessary kits in the ambulance. The staff nurse acting swiftly conducted the delivery.
Later Naseema and her new born son were admitted to Lady Goshen hospital in Mangaluru. They are in good health.
Publics have appreciated the timely action and devotion to duty of staff nurse Chethana and driver Nagappa.
