Mangaluru, October 28: In connection to the murder of Vikram alias Vicky Bolar (28) on late night on October 25th, the Ullal police, with the assistance of city crime branch police have taken five accused into custody.
The arrested are identified as Psycho Vicky alias Ravichandra Poojary, Girish, and three others.
It is learnt that Vikram had planned to attack and kill Psycho Vicky but was killed instead. It is now learnt that Psycho Vicky and some others had been to a Mehandi programme at Vidyanagar, during which a argument took place between some youngsters and Vicky’s gang. Some members of the gang which fought with Psycho Vicky then conveyed this information to Vikram Bolar.
Vicky had reportedly thought it was a chance to finish off Psycho Vicky relating to an old enmity, as he thought that he would draw support of the gang of youth there. It is learnt that he was accompanied by his friend Abhishek in the motor bike when he started towards Kumpala, and had two machetes with him.
But before Vicky could reach the spot where the said function was going on, Psycho Vicky had left the spot. At Kumpala bypass the two gangs came face to face. Those in the Scoprio sensed danger after seeing that Vikram and others were holding machetes and moving towards the venue of the function. They therefore planned to finish off Vikram, and chased the motor bike of the rival gang. All the three in the motor bike fell to the ground when trying to escape the oncoming vehicle. As Abhishek succeeded in getting up and running away, Vikram, who was left alone helpless, was attacked by Psycho Vicky gang and killed, it is gathered.
It is said that rivalry existed between these two gangs over a silly issue long back. The rivalry grew complicated, and resulted in several fights between them over time. It is said that Vikram, who had been to a party organized for the Mangalore Dasara Huli Vesha artistes, was advised against attacking Psycho Vicky by his friends when he started from there, but he did not listen to them. At the same time, Psycho Vicky gang, which was involved in argument at the Mehandi function, was sent away by the groom, who sensed that the function might get spoilt.
Vicky Bolar was involved in gang war. About ten cases was filed against him on murder, attempt to murder, at Barke, Urva and other police stations in Mangaluru. He was accused in murder of Jhon Pinto of Alake. He was the main accused in the murder of Pradeep- the brother of Kori Ashok.
