He had kept the cash in the back seat of his car. When he reached the curved road near Vittal government hospital, a white Tata Sumo with five occupants came in his way and stopped him accusing of him colliding into their car. One of them pointed a gun (which was later found to be fake) on the chest of Subhashchandra Nayak and then the gang had fled with the cash bag of Subhashchandra that was in the car. Immediately Subhashchandra informed the matter to the local police station.
The Vittal police immediately swung into action and passed information to the district police control room. In addition, the Bantwal rural police and Vittal police chased the Tata Sumo vehicle of the burglars.
Meanwhile, the district control room alerted all the police stations. The Ullal and Konaje police teams, led by SI Bharati and SI Sudhakar intercepted the Tata Sumo at Konaje and arrested the gang of robbers.
