Mangaluru, September 8: In rowdyism there is nothing like moral and immoral. It cannot be justified. The police officials have already been directed to take appropriate actions to curb rowdyism. Against those who involve in goondaism, cases will be registered against them under goonda act and measures will be taken to send them away from the district, warned home Minister K J George.
Home Minister KJ George held a meeting with the police officials at the Circuit House here during his visit to the city on Monday, August 7th and later spoke to reporters. Against the rowdies, rowdy sheets will be opened and in some situations, they will be sent away from the district. Suitable punishment will also be imposed on them, he said.
Inspection on delay of CID investigation:
When a reporter questioned that about 12 cases in Dakshina Kannada are given to the CID, but no significant developments are seen. In response, Minister George said, usually the government will not interfere after cases are handed over to the CID. But the reason for delay will be inspected, he said.
About the murder of Dr M M Kalburgi, he said the local police are investigating the case and now case has been handed over to the CID. In Maharashtra too, two such incidents have taken place and they have been handed over to CBI. The government is ready to give this case to CBI. We have faith on our officials and we also hope that the culprits are arrested and punished appropriately, said George.
Answering to the query of a reporter he said, difference exists between a defamatory statement and a provocative comment. When people make provocative comments threatening to kill somebody, it leads to law and order problem. We will file suo motu cases against those who make provocative comments. It is as though they are giving a call to create communal disturbance, and action will be taken against them, said Minster George.
District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, MLA J R Lobo, ADGP Alok Mohan, IGP (western range) Amrit Paul, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, Police Commissioner S Murugan, Superintendent of Police Dr SD Sharanappa, Udupi SP Annamalai and others were present on this occasion.
