Mangaluru, July 25: Mayor Jacintha Alfred visited the Jalligudde area on the evening of Friday July 24th and assured to set right the problem. As the pipeline that carries water to the area got damaged, brisk repair works are going on.
The repair works will be completed by today or tomorrow after which the water supply system will go on smoothly.
Untill then, the MCC has made arrangements for supply water through tankers. Along with this, for the benefit of the residents, although water is made available in two big syntax tanks; the Jalligudde residents have opposed the water supply through other alternatives and have demanded that they need only pipe line water supply.
The locals have not paid heed to the words of the local corporator and are on a stand to get their demand fulfilled. If they do not give time for repair works, then how can this problem get solved, said the MCC Mayor Jacintha Viajy Alfred, speaking to Kanandigaworld.com media reporter.
