Mangaluru, July 8: A prime ganja peddler has been arrested by city crime branch (CCB) police on Tuesday, July 7th.
The arrested is identified as Abdul Rahim alias Goods Rahim alias Kandi Rahim (40), resident of Ansari Cross Road in Bunder here. The accused was engaged in supplying ganja to youngsters and college students in the city.
The cops arrested Rahim while he was selling ganja stored in a new Honda Activa two-wheeler vehicle near the Old Bunder area here.
The police have seized 1.35 kg ganja valued Rs 20,000, two cell phones, two gold chains, two finger rings, and two-wheeler from his possession.
The accused as well as the seized items from his possession have been handed over to city (north) police station for further action.
Abdul Rahim used to make small sachets of ganja and supply them to students of various colleges, other educational institutions, and the public, it is said.
The accused was facing three earlier cases in city (north) station related to ganja sale.
Last week police arrested his brother, Farooq, and ganja was seized from him. At that time, Rahim had succeeded in escaping from the police.
Under the directions of police commissioner, S Murugan, and guided by deputy commissioner of police, K M Shantaraju, CCB inspector, Valentine D’Souza and police sub-inspector, Syam Sundar and team conducted the operation.
