Mangaluru, March 18: A man was killed in a ghastly accident which is reported to have occurred between a lorry and bicycle.
The accident is said to have occurred in near Padil railway overbridge here at around 4.30 pm on Wednesday, March 18th.
The deceased has been identified as Basavaraj (50), a resident of Pallakere, Bajal.
It is learnt that a speeding lorry knocked the cyclist Basavaraj to death on spot after its rear wheels came over him. The lorry was plying towards Panemangalore, it is gathered.
Basavaraj was employed as a watchman at Yenepoya school in Jeppinamogaru here. He was on his way back home when the accident took place.
A case is registered by Mangaluru rural police.
