Ornaments burgled from a house- accused friend arrested.

Mangaluru, Mar 11: Mulky cops have arrested the accused in relation to the theft that had taken place and have recovered the gold jewellery from him.

Dan Fernandes from Ramanagara, Halengady had lodged a complaint with the cops two days ago regarding the theft which had taken place in his residence. It is alleged that the theft was committed by a friend, it is learnt.

It is gathered that, Dan Fernandes from Halengaday had locked his home and had been to Uchila on Saturday to attend the wedding of his relative.

It is stated in the complaint that when he had returned home at around 2 am on the same night, he observed that his friend, Naveen, had entred into the house by breaking open the front door. He also alleged on seeing that the house owner had returned, Naveen immediately moved out.

Fernandes, after conducting a detailed inspection found that gold ornaments weighing about 214 grams, valued more that four lakh rupees were missing from his house.

Accused was produced in the court, and was detained under judicial custody of 15 days.

Guided by city police commissioner, Murugan, the arrest operation was carried out by DCP’s, Santosh Babu and Vishnuvardha.  Panambur ACP, Ravikumar, Mulky police inspector, Ramachandra Nayak, and assistant sub-inspector, Vaman Salian were also among the operation team.
