Mangaluru, March 10: Seven youngsters who were allegedly burgling mobile phone shops, and damaging cars and police shelters were nabbed by Kadri cops. Cops have seized Computer, laptop, cell phone, and recharge coupons worth Rs 80,000 from them.
These incidents were reported from Maroli and Kulshekhar areas in the city.
Cops have revealed that, among the seven offenders, five are juvenile offenders. Two offenders who have attained majority are identified as Prem D’Souza (19) resident of Kadri and Sevin (19) resident of Madikeri.
Cops took up the investigation on the basis of CCTV camera footages observed in relation to an incident which occurred on March 5th in which the windshields of a car parked inside the compound of a house in Kadri Kambala were shattered. Cops who questioned Prem D’Souza, learnt about his companions who were involved with this and other crimes.
It is reported that all the accused are young students, who involved in these acts mainly because they needed money to buy liquor and enjoy life.
