Mangaluru, December 1: Mangaluru City Police Commissioner R Hithendra chaired the monthly SC/ST meeting on Sunday November 30th, organized by Mangaluru City Police and informed that, CCTVs will be installed in police stations to monitor the functioning of systems.
Commissioner Hithendra taking note of complaints by individuals about brokers menace in police stations directed that written complaints be submitted for due action. He also stated that the police department has already taken up the measures to install CCTV’s in police stations to improve the justice enforcement.
Responding to a complaint by Girish, who alleged that Dalit community are not invited for peace committee meetings held at the police station level, the Commissioner directed assistant police commissioners and police inspectors concerned to include all sections of society in such events.
One among the dalit leaders urged to set up a police outpost at Borugudde under Moodbidri police station limits explaining that, citizens from areas such as Nellikaru, Mantrady and other nearby areas have to travel at least 18-20 km’s to reach Moodbidri police station for any assistance.
