Bantwal, November 4: During the early hours on Sunday morning at 4.30am the chief priest of the Shree Thirumala Venkataramana Temple at the golden town Bantwal launched the auspicious celebration “Vishwaroopa Dashan” by formally lighting a lamp at the Tulsi katte in the front yard of the temple after performing special pooja to the presiding deity Venkataramana.
Following this, the devotees also joined to light thousands of lamps which were placed in the premises. Children, women, and senior citizens lit the lamps together and subsequently stood in queue to get a glimpse of the deity. The inner premises of the temple were wonderfully decorated with flowers.
On this occasion, renouned Hindustani singer Dr Sampada Bhat, film singers Seema and Raikar presented a melodious ‘Jugalbandi’ that enthralled the devotees present there.
District-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, managing trustees of the temple and other dignitaries participated in the pooja. Post the darshan, sweet meat ‘Laddu’ were distributed to all the devotees. Devotees were seen waiting in the queue from long before sunrise till 7 O’clock to get the darshan of lord Venkatramana.
