District President Santhosh Bajal addressing the protestors said, “In the district, private hospitals charge more and the layman suffer without being capable to bear the expenses of medical treatment. “Once a person visits any private hospital, they are made to undergo various medical tests. Private hospitals do not follow any rules and regulations. Private hospitals should display the price list for every test, bed charges and others charges where the people can estimate the expenses for treatment.”

He also added that most of the hospitals are similar to educational institutions where service should be their motto, but they fail to follow the rules and regulations. District administration should look into this matter and fix the rates and get hospitals to comply with the rules and regulations, he said.
