BANGALORE: The BJP, though, verbally remained silent on former chief minister and Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) supremo BS Yeddyurappa during its Vijay Sanklap rally in Bangalore Palace Grounds on Monday, has initiated action on his son-MP BY Raghavendra by suspending him from the party.

The party also suspended Haveri MP Shivakumar Udasi, son of former minister CM Udasi on charges of anti-party activities.

Both the MPs have openly recognized with KJP after Yeddyurappa quit the party.

While all other supporters, in various capacities, of Yeddyurappa have resigned BJP, Raghavendra and Udasi are yet quit the party. The party has already suspended Tumkur MP GS Basavaraj for recognizing with Yeddyurappa.

“You are actively campaigning against BJP by addressing the gathering of KJP workers and calling upon them to defeat BJP in the election to the Karnataka state assembly. Despite repeated requests for campaigning for BJP, you have not stopped campaigning against BJP. This is clear violation of the party discipline and tantamount to anti-party activities. Hence you are suspended from the membership of the BJP parliamentary party with immediate effect,” BJP chief whip Ramesh Bais said.

Both Raghavendra and Udasi welcomed the decision and said they are free now to actively participate in KJP events.
