MANGALORE: Customs officials at Mangalore International Airport have siezed a gold bar weighing 1kg valued at Rs 30 lakh concealed by an unknown passenger under the seat of Jet Airways flight 9W531 which arrived at MIA at 7.40am.
Yusuf Koppalam, a resident of Madhur, Kasargod who was travelling to Mumbai in the same flight converted as domestic flight 9W436 was caught when he was removing the gold bar concealed under the seat. Further investigation is on.
The passenger has been arrested and produced before the court, D Purushotham, commissioner of customs said.
