The night of March 19 was a good night in true sense as it saw ‘women of worth’, who have stood up for a cause they felt deeply for and whose efforts changed lives of many, coming together to celebrate their achievements.
This year, L’Oréal Paris Femina Women Awards 2013 brought under the arc lights those unsung women, who have made a difference across fields such as art, business, environment, science and technology, sports, environment etc. The awards night, held at Mumbai’s JW Marriott, saw the perfect touch of glitz and glamour with the presence of Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Kunal Kapoor, Kabir Khan and Mini Mathur, Prasoon Joshi, Nandita Das, Shabana Azmi, Vidya Balan and Neha Dhupia amongst others.
Actress Vidya Balan, who looked gorgeous in the marriage afterglow, was felicitated with the ‘Women We Love’ award. “This is a celebration of me as woman. This award is special because it celebrates the essence of women. Women are now beginning to take centre stage and are getting recognized,” said the beaming beauty. While Bollywood diva Sonam Kapoor, who shares a long association with Femina as well as L’Oreal Paris, said she was glad that women are being recognised for their efforts in various fields.
