Thane: A serving Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sanjay Banerjee, shot himself in the head in a restaurant in Thane on the outskirts of Mumbai.
Mr Banerjee was posted with the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad.
He used his service revolver to shoot himself at the Goa Portuguesa restaurant. He was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.
