The Charkop police has arrested a couple for trying to push a girl into prostitution. The arrested accused had called the girl from Gujarat, luring her with modelling offers.

The accused have been identified as Ayaan Singh (22) and Geet Upadhyay (30), both residents of Charkop. The incident took place at Jankalyan Nagar near MHADA, when the accused assaulted the victim, Khushboo, and her friend Rakhi Khushwa, an aspiring model, on Sunday night.
According to the police, Khushboo used to stay with Geet when she came to Mumbai. But she left her house as Geet was forcibly trying to push Khushboo in the prostitution business. She then started staying with her friend Rakhi in Charkop.
On Sunday night, Geet and Ayaan barged into Rakhi’s resident and warned her not to allow Khushboo to stay with her. When Rakhi protested, they started abusing her. The two accused then dragged Khushboo, and started forcibly taking her with them.

Rakhi immediately came to Khushboo’s rescue, but Ayaan punched her in the eye after which Geet also joined in, and they both assaulted her and tore her clothes. The accused then started assaulting Khushboo too.
Khushboo and Rakhi then went to a nearby private hospital for medical treatment. Doctor from the hospital informed the Charkop police, who came and inquired about the matter.
After recording statements from the victims, the police immediately filed an FIR and arrested Geet and Ayaan.
“Geet had called me to Mumbai and told me that she stays alone and she has many modelling offers. She said that I can earn around Rs 20,000 per day as she has influence in the industry. I came here three months ago, her boyfriend also came and started living in the same house. They started sending me to many people for meetings, but I came to realise that they are not related to the film industry,” said Khusboo.
“When I used to go for any meeting, the clients used to tell me to get physical. That’s why I left Geet’s house and started staying at Rakhi’s house,” Khushboo added.
“From the day Khushboo came at my house, they started threatening me. When I warned them not to force her into the flesh trade, they came and assaulted us,” stated Rakhi.
API Pradeep Raorane confirmed the arrest. “We have registered a case and arrested the accused. The victims were assaulted by the two accused. They forcibly tried to push one of the victims into the flesh trade.”
The accused were produced in Borivali court and sent to judicial custody.
