Vasai wins MSSA-Bipin Football Academy inter-centre tournament 2015

MUMBAI: The Vasai centre won the MSSA-Bipin Football Academy inter-centre tournament 2015 after beating Colaba 1-0 at the MSSA ground here on Sunday. Ephan Kalley, who was adjudged as the best player of the tournament, scored the winner in the final. In semi-finals, Vasai had defeated Churchgate 2-1 while Colaba overcame Kandivli 3-2.

Double Olympian SS Narayanan gave away trophies and individual awards. WIFA general secretary Souter Vaz, MDFA general secretary U Banerjee, MSSA president Father Jude Rodrigues and former Indian Railways player Ranjeet Madkar were present at the occasion. Divided into two groups in the league-cum-knockout format, seven centres took part in the tournament. The squads were formed from the trainees attending the Bipin Football Academy vacation coaching camp under reputed coaches.
