8,500 constables will be recruited soon: Home Minister

Home Minister K.J. George announced on Tuesday that the State government would shortly recruit 8,500 police constables and 700 police sub-inspectors.

He was speaking after inaugurating the new building for the Halagur police station in Malavalli taluk.

The department will open all women police stations at different places besides improving facilities for police personnel across the State, Mr. George said.

Later in the evening, he inaugurated the new building for the Nagamangala police station in Nagamangala.

The department has also constructed computer sections and separate lock-ups for men and women.

Director General of Police Lal Rukum Pachao, Inspector General of Police Bijay Kumar Singh, Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation’s Managing Director Seemanth Kumar Singh, Mandya Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, Additional Superintendent of Police M. Puttamadaiah, and Deputy Superintendents of Police R. Shivakumar, T.J. Udesha and Savitha Hugar were present.
