Bangalore: Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda got a shock at the engagement of his son Karthik on Wednesday. Kannada actor, Mythriya Gowda, used the occasion to announce that Karthik had already married her. Ms. Mythriya made the allegation on some TV channels.
The charge was denied by Mr. Karthik, who told presspersons that he did not know the model-turned-actor at all. Mr. Gowda also expressed surprise over the charges, maintaining that his life was an open book. He termed the allegations an effort to tarnish his image.
Speaking to presspersons in Kushalnagar, he said some political forces could not tolerate his political rise and were behind such allegations.
Some television channels have described the actor as a Congress worker.
Ms. Mythriya filed a complaint with the RT Nagar police who booked Mr. Karthik under Sections 376 (rape) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC. The police asked the complainant to undergo a medical examination at Victoria Hospital.
