People’s Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Maudany, who is an accused in the 2008 Bangalore serial blast, was released from the Bangalore Central Prison on Monday. His release, four years after his arrest, follows the granting of a one-month bail by the Supreme Court on health grounds. He was taken to a local health centre, where he has been admitted. After stepping out of prison, Mr. Maudany said, “I have done nothing wrong.” Though Mr. Maudany has been provided tight security by the police for the duration of the bail, he will not be in police custody.
