A brief spell of rain accompanied by heavy wind brought down at least a dozen trees on Saturday evening, while affecting vehicular movement in several parts of the city.
Trees uprooted
According to reports received in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) control rooms, two trees each were uprooted in Thippasandra, Rajajinagar and Jayanagar, while tree-falls were reported in N.R. Colony, Nruptunga Road, Kempe Gowda Road, Malleswaram, Rajajinagar, Parimala Nagar and near Kanteerava Stadium.
The city received a steady bout of rain for half-an-hour . Traffic was hit in Seshadripuram, Koramangala, Shanthinagar and Richmond Town among other areas as roads were inundated.
No distress calls
However, BBMP control rooms had not received any distress calls , an official said. According to the Met Department, the city received 13.7 mm of rainfall on Saturday night.
