Gang of six abducts two from bus, robs them of Rs. 30 lakh

A gang of six armed men abducted two employees of a jewellery shop at gunpoint from a KSRTC bus on the Bangalore-Mysore Highway on Friday and robbed them of Rs. 30 lakh. According to the police, Aleem and Siddique work in Wilson Garden. They were headed to Calicut to buy gold. The six men intercepted the bus at Ghousia College of Engineering near Ramanagaram. They abducted the duo at gunpoint. The bus driver, Prasanna Kumar, later lodged a complaint in Ramanagaram town police station.

Within an hour, they found the duo on the outskirts of Kengeri. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Ramanagaram) Ramalingappa said they have registered a case.

The police added that they are questioning the victims and their employer.

“We got several clues from the bus driver and the victims. We are checking CCTV footage from outlets on the highway,” he said.
