Bangalore: As the election draws closer, major political parties stepped up their electioneering to woo voters in the City on Tuesday.

The BJP launched a campaign vehicle for the benefit of their star campaigners who will be criss-crossing the City and parts of the State. The eight-seat hi-tech bus was gifted to the BJP by its former industries minister and businessman Murugesh R Nirani.

This apart, the BJP saw little or no campaign activity in the City on account of the Narendra Modi rally. The only noticeable campaigning was by Bangalore South MP Ananth Kumar, who visited Pattabhiramanagar.

The Congress candidates campaigned in full swing across the City, by approaching voters on Namma Metro and in padayatras. Bangalore Central candidate Rizwan Arshad took the Metro train to meet the voters. Arshad sought the support of the morning commuters. He took out a padayatra in Ulsoor and Bharathinagar and held street-corner meetings in CV Raman Nagar.
