Alleging that the Congress in Karnataka has become a “divided house,” former Chief Minister and BJP’s Bangalore North Lok Sabha candidate D.V. Sadananda Gowda on Friday said there was a possibility of the State witnessing mid-term polls to the Assembly after the LS polls.

“During the 2013 Assembly elections, the BJP was a divided house. But now the situation has changed as it has become united and the Congress is witnessing serious differences among its leaders,” Mr. Sadananda Gowda told a meet-the-press programme of candidates from Bangalore North constituency, jointly organised by the Press Club of Bangalore and Bangalore Reporters’ Guild here.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress candidate C. Narayanaswamy said he was touched by the gesture of the Congress office-bearers, who had elected him in the primary polls, which were held to choose the candidate for Bangalore North, given that he had recently joined the party.
