The two-day-old strike launched by Karnataka Film Workers, Artistes, Technicians’ Federation has been withdrawn following the intervention of actor Shivarajkumar.
Over 4,000 workers belonging to federation had boycotted production activity from Monday opposing the decision of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to give recognition to a parallel film workers union headed by Rajesh Brahmavar.
Speaking to The Hindu, S. Raveendranath, federation secretary, said artistes Shivarajkumar, Puneet Rajkumar and Vijay met workers and persuaded them to withdraw the strike. Mr. Shivarajkumar also met KFCC president, H.D. Gangaraju.
